Ash, Ciara, Tom and Brad
BRAD MURPHY
Brad is one of our senior physiotherapists and has been with Golden City Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic for over 20 years. He is one of the principles of the practice. Prior to training as a physiotherapist Brad worked as a masseur for 4 years. Brad, like all of our physiotherapists has a keen interest in sports injury treatment and prevention. He has previously been the physiotherapist for the Woodend Football club and the Kyneton Football club, as well as the Bendigo Braves and Bendigo Lady Braves basketball clubs. Brad has been a footballer with Kyneton Football Club and later Heathcote Football Club and is now a keen archer competing (and winning) a number of Victorian and Australian Championships. He has regularly competed in the USA since 2006. He is also a keen crossfit competitor. Brad is married with two children. Brad has been trained in Dry Needling and can use this as part of your treatment if clinically indicated. He has also completed extra training in Spinal injury management, Shoulder injury diagnosis and management, Sports injury management, Ergonomic assessment and Occupational Health and Safety and Assessment.
TOM DOWD
Tom is one of our senior physiotherapists and has been with us at Golden City for over 10 years. Tom graduated from LaTrobe University in Bundoora and worked in Melbourne before joining us. Tom's major fields of interest are in sporting injuries, particularly soft tissue rehab and tendon injury management, dry needling and physiotherapy for older generations. Tom was a keen footballer who relocated to Bendigo to take up the position of Assistant Senior Coach at the Strathfieldsaye Football Club and he has represented Victoria at AFL National Championships on a number of occasions. As well as being involved at Strathfieldsaye as a player he also provided physiotherapy advice for the club. He has worked extensively with the Braves and Lady Braves basketballers. He has a strong understanding of the requirements and common complaints for athletes participating in football, netball, soccer, basketball, golf and swimming. Tom is married with three children. Tom has been trained in Dry Needling and can use this as part of your treatment if clinically indicated. He has also completed additional training in Tendon injury rehab, ACL reconstructions, Osteoarthritic knee pain, Spinal injury management, Ergonomic assessment and Sports injury management.
ASH BLUME
Ash is one of our amazing physiotherapists. Ash graduated from LaTrobe University in Bendigo and worked as a physiotherapist at the Inglewood and Districts Health Service before joining the Golden City family. Ash has a keen interest in injury management and exercise rehabilitation, dry needling and is a qualified clinical pilates therapist. Ash has been a sports trainer/physiotherapist for the Marong Football and Netball Club since 2016 and returned to playing netball at the club in 2019 after a few years away from the game. Most recently, Ash was the physiotherapist for the Bendigo Pioneers Women's Under 18 squad for the short 2020 season. Ash is married and recently became a proud aunty. Ash grew up in Mansfield, High Country Victoria, and moved to Bendigo to study. Prior to moving to Bendigo, Ash enjoyed skiing and snowboarding on Mt Buller. Ash has been trained in Dry Needling and can use this as part of your treatment if clinically indicated.
CIARA DARRER
Ciara graduated from Australian Catholic University in Ballarat with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. With a strong interest in musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and rehabilitation, Ciara loves to help people recover from injuries and achieve their health goals. Growing up on the Mornington Peninsula, Ciara spent much of her time playing sports such as basketball, netball, swimming, and surf lifesaving. Her personal experiences with sports injuries and rehabilitation sparked her interest in physiotherapy and the importance of proper rehabilitation. Ciara has worked as a sports trainer for the Mornington Football and Netball Club since 2019, where she gained valuable experience in providing on-field care to athletes. She has also worked with the Masters Football league with the Peninsula Raiders and is currently a sports trainer/physiotherapist at Harcourt Football Netball Club while still playing netball herself. In her free time, Ciara loves to spend time outdoors, camping, and going down the coast to surf.
WENDY SEYMOUR
Wendy has been our receptionist at Golden City Physiotherapy for over 20 years. She has many years experience in our practice and knows the place inside and out. Outside of work Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and three children and loves bush walking and traveling.
JANELLE WILLIAMS
Janelle is another of our wonderful office staff and has many years of experience working in reception and is a valued member of the team.
Outside of work Janelle enjoys spending time with her family including her two children. She also loves travelling - especially to the beach.
